sTori Telling by Tori Spelling

Last post I spoke about what guys would do for women… and well, I just finished reading ‘sTori Telling’ by Tori Spelling, who obviously is the late TV producer Aaron Spelling’s only daughter. I have never read an autobiography like this, but since my fiancé is deeply in love with Tori (because they share birthdays), and I grew up with the original Beverly Hills, 90210, she made me read it too.
The book is a girly memoir about Tori’s life starting from her early childhood and up until her first son, Liam, was born, but she mostly speaks about her relationships, with co-stars, guys, children, and of course, her parents. Everybody grown up in that time who ever held a tabloid paper in their hands would know about her rocky relationship with her mother. It describes her first marriage and how she met her second husband, Dean McDermott.
Apart from her relationships, she talks about the hardships of her life – despite being rich; people hardly ever took her seriously. As she states, “living in a rich family isn’t the easiest thing, because you miss out on normal life.” She was desperately waiting to move out of the so-called Manor, just to do her own laundry and cook her own meals.
I guess what made the book easier to read for a guy were the jokes – she’s actually a pretty funny and light-hearted person. I found myself laughing out loud a lot of times, even her insecurities made me smirk a little.
Overall, the book was OK. Nothing special, but I guess it’s not really meant for guys anyway. I would actually recommend it to all of the 90210 fans, because you get awesome, behind the scenes visuals of a hit drama show. Amazon should have plenty of stock and if you're really looking to buy, have a look at shoprepublic.com for any active discount codes and vouchers out there.
